Societas Ethica Young Scholars’ Award is awarded to the best presentation by a young scholar. Young scholars for the purpose of this competition are doctoral students and researchers who earned their degree less than two years ago and do not have a tenure-track academic position. Societas Ethica is delighted to announce the 2019 St. Lawrence, the Martyr Stipends. These funds will sponsor five PhD students to attend and participate in the 2019 Societas Ethica annual conference in Tutzing, Germany on 27-30 June 2019. The stipends will cover the full applicable conference fee, which includes room and board, but not travel or other related expenses.

• Two scholarships for students who are from and are studying in the Low Countries (Belgium and the Netherlands)

• One scholarship for a student who is a member of the Church of England

• One scholarship for a student who is from and is studying in Slovenia

• One scholarship for a student with a Jewish background
